Welcome to Well Urned Rest - an alternative concept in choosing a final resting vessel for yourself or a cherished friend or family member. All my designs are made in natural fibres and materials and thus suitable for natural burial.
There are many reasons for choosing a beautiful urn - you may consider the many metal or clay urns rather ‘cold’, you may want something truly beautiful to have in your home to remember someone you loved, and will continue to love. You may be choosing for yourself, and many people make their choice because it ‘goes with the decor’. Are you having trouble finding a way to talk to your family about your end of life wishes? If so, centering a discussion around your choice can be a good way to start a conversation.
If you are choosing for a beloved family member or friend, think of choosing an urn as a way to celebrate a life - whether to keep at home or for burial - and I hope this will help ease your loss. You can of course purchase any of the urns on these pages if I still have them. However, many people like to have something made specially for them. While still following the design ideas on these pages, each and every urn will be individual, such is the nature of working with textiles and handmade felt. You can of course choose your own colour combinations - the ideas here are just to give you a starting point in colour and shape. ‘Summer’ is beautiful with poppies or sunflowers, ‘Autumn’ could have oak leaves. You might like ‘Winter’ in berry red rather than white. Let’s talk.
Note: all measurements are approximate and smaller/larger urns can be made for you. Size should be discussed with your funeral director if you are in doubt.
The purchase price includes an inner bag for ashes, packaging and delivery. Whenever possible I use recycled packaging – please advise if you prefer new wrappings.
